2018 Update

Hi Everyone,
First of all, my apologies for not offering you more resources and information throughout 2018. It has been a busy year for myself and for Tranquility Counselling. I'd like to provide you with an update as well as a commitment to regular posts in 2019 and on.
Tranquility Counselling Availability
This year has been one of significant growth. I am now seeing clients on Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays at Glow Wellness. It is likely I will be adding another day to my schedule at Glow in 2019 (Saturdays). If you are interested in meeting with me feel free to e-mail, call or text. All messages come through to the same device and are confidential. I look forward to connecting with you and am grateful to each person that reaches out to me.
2018 Events
This year I attended two events:
1. The Mental Health Pop Up was held at Moment Meditation in Gastown. It was a lovely grass roots event which connected people to Counsellors for 15-30 minutes. I had the pleasure of meeting individuals who had never met with a Counsellor before and wanted to learn more about what the process would look like.
2. The Uncommon Woman event held in New Westminster. This is a Canadian led initiative where women share their struggles and strengths as it relates to trauma. There is an active Facebook community that supports women on a day to day basis. I spoke at this event to explain what trauma is and how we can support those who share and listen to narratives of a traumatic nature. I wanted to highlight that resilience and growth can occur as a result of trauma. This is part of the healing process for individuals who experience trauma and for those who empathetically listen or support trauma narratives.
Name Change
Some housekeeping information. I have changed my name back to my maiden name and am in the process of updating my name with various parties. Up until recently I have been going by the name Michelle Johal. Please note that this will change to Michelle Srih soon.
I am grateful for what this year has brought and look forward to what 2019 has in store.
All the best,
Michelle
